About the event
Have you ever wanted to learn more about foraging your own natural wild food and medicine? For centuries our ancestors lived off the land, harvesting seasonal plants to nourish them and treat their family's ailments. This knowledge was passed down over generations, but in the last 100 or so years, much of it has been forgotten.
Come join me in my 𝐖𝐢𝐥𝐝 𝐅𝐨𝐥𝐤 𝐌𝐞𝐝𝐢𝐜𝐢𝐧𝐞 - 𝐖𝐚𝐥𝐤 & 𝐖𝐨𝐫𝐤𝐬𝐡𝐨𝐩 Series and re-learn traditional skills of foraging and creating homemade folk medicine and wild food recipes.
𝐈𝐧 𝐉𝐮𝐥𝐲, 𝐰𝐞 𝐰𝐢𝐥𝐥 𝐦𝐞𝐞𝐭: 𝙈𝙚𝙖𝙙𝙤𝙬𝙨𝙬𝙚𝙚𝙩 Learn how to identify and harvest this beautiful and highly medicinal plant. We will discuss the benefits of meadowsweet tea and taste some ourselves and also learn to make tinctures and tonics as an important form of folk medicine.
𝐖𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐭𝐨 𝐄𝐱𝐩𝐞𝐜𝐭: We will start with a foraging walk around the large private property owned by Lisa of The Yoga Social, where I will point out many wild plants and discuss their medicinal and culinary uses, and how to responsibly harvest them. We will use sensory learning to "meet" the plants. We will then forage as a group some of our "plant of the month" and head into a beautiful yurt where you will have an opportunity for some hands-on learning making your own medicine and wild food. Each month we will cover a different plant and technique, including creating your own teas, tinctures, infused oils, honey and vinegars, salves/balms and some wild food techniques such as making syrups, energy balls and sauces.
This is your opportunity to connect more deeply with nature, the old ways, and your own health.
