Return to Nature

retreat

30th-31st May, 2026
Blackridge, West Lothian, Scotland

Have you felt the call?
The call back to the trees, the earth, the water.

Perhaps a curiosity about the medicine that nature offers?

Or maybe you've been feeling a bit lost in this fast-paced, modern world, exhausted by devices, worries, responsibilities and endless expectations.

Return to Nature offers a softening, a slowing, and a deepening of the soul's connection to the natural world around us.

If this sounds like the medicine you might be seeking right now, read on...

What is the Return to Nature Retreat?

Return to Nature is a two-day immersive wellbeing retreat, offering a deeply nourishing space to slow down, decompress, and reconnect — with yourself, with others, and with the natural world around you.

Set in a cosy retreat centre on the edge of diverse woodlands, we will explore the landscape around us and our relationship with nature; learning from its rhythms, elements, and wisdom. Through a gentle blend of plant medicine, relaxation, creative craft, and shamanic practices, you’ll be supported to connect more deeply at a soul level, cultivating a sense of belonging, self-compassion, and healing.

Throughout the retreat, both mind and body will be lovingly nourished with knowledge, meaningful connection, moments of calm, creativity, friendship and delicious, hearty, home-made food!

Who is this retreat for?

Return to Nature is for anyone, of any gender, who feels called to connect more deeply with nature, especially its spirit and medicine. It's also for those who seek connection to like-minded individuals and who are looking to engage in a variety of wellness activities and experiences to engage in self-care and personal growth.

This retreat is for adults 18+, but 16+ will be considered on an individual basis (such as a mother and daughter wanting to attend together). Although the venue is accessible, participants will need to have good mobility to be able to take part in many of the outdoor activities.

If you have any questions about the retreat and whether it is a good fit for you, please reach out: stef@oakandwildflower.com

Meet your Retreat Leader: Stef

Hi I'm Stef of Oak and Wildflower; your retreat leader and main facilitator for Return to Nature.

I am a community herbalist, forager, circle facilitator, traditional Shaman in the Spirit of Wolf tradition, and sylvotherapy (forest bathing) leader. I am a teacher member of the Association of Foragers, and an avid wild foodie.

My work and what I offer to others revolves around nature, as my goal is to help others find peace and healing through deepening their nature connection and wisdom.

I have been facilitating nature-based wellness events for the past 4 years including monthly Wild Women's Circles, foraging walks, herbal medicine workshops, tea circles and shamanic fire rituals.

I also do one-on-one shamanic work with clients.

A bit more about me personally:
I am a neurodivergent woman in her forties, a mum to one daughter, and a wife to a big tall Scot.  A bit of a hippy, pretty down-to-earth and definitely awkward at times, over the past several years I have done a lot of developing, healing, and self-acceptance.
I am based in Fife after immigrating to Scotland from Canada 8 years ago. Scotland is the home I always longed for, and I feel so lucky to be immersed in its natural beauty.

Outside of my love for nature, I enjoy baking, crafting, singing (mostly in my car) and sitting on my couch watching a good series.

Location & Accommodation

The retreat is taking place at Beechbrae Woodland Centre located in Blackridge, West Lothian, a beautiful, purpose-built wellbeing space nestled on the edge of farmland and 35 acres of wild woodland. Along with the modern retreat centre, the land boasts footpaths winding through the wood connecting you to wild ponds, a garden, orchard, fire circle and labyrinth.

During the retreat we will explore the wild area around the centre, but during free periods you are welcome to explore further. The centre itself is fully wheelchair accessible, but the places we will be exploring in the woods will not be.

Learn more about the location here: Beechbrae

Camping

The retreat will include camping overnight on the Saturday, either outdoors, or indoors in the retreat centre.

Outdoor camping is encouraged as part of nature connection.

If the night is clear, you will get a wonderful display of stars!

Retreat participants will be responsible for bringing their own tents and camping gear, with limited shared spaces available in the large women-only bell tent (shown above). Indoors there is plenty of space in the many rooms available where an air mattress can be used on the floor, although most will be shared spaces. If you are attending with someone you know, inform the retreat leader as you can be given a room together without sharing with strangers.

There are limited onsite parking spaces for camper vans.

If you do not want to camp:  nearby accommodation may be available, this is at your own expense, or you may wish you travel back and forth from home if you are local.
